Lynx Gym

Description

Running, jumping, balancing, climbing and rolling are just some of the activities children love to do and one place they can do it safely is Lynx Gym Centre in Aylesbury.

The purpose-built centre is fitted with the latest gym equipment for all age groups, whether it is ‘Playgym’ for the under fives, ‘Gymkins’ for three to five year olds, or ‘General Gym’ for school children and teenagers.

Littlies attending Playgym can look foward to a fun-packed morning of trampoline, rope swinging, fast track and inflatable slides, plus a whole host of soft play equipment to bound around on.

Gymkins is slightly more structured to Lynx’s gymnastics award scheme for which it is nationally recognised.

The general gym gives young people the chance to learn basic gymnastics and gain badges on the UK Gymnastics Award Scheme. It also comes under the banner of Aylesbury Gymnastics Academy and indeed some of the gymnasts attending have represented county and national teams.

The centre was established in 1986 by Brian and Barbara Adams and their family.

Son Christopher became an internationally qualified coach, while daughters Heather and Nicki have both achieved national gymnastic acclaim in performing and teaching.

Lynx is also a registered charity recognised for providing non-profit making educational activities.
