Description
The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre has fast become a landmark building for the town since opening in October 2010.
Inspired by the Chiltern Hills with an undulating roof and warm colours and textures throughout, the state-of-the-art building boasts an experience to remember and has much to offer.
The versatility of the venue should not be overlooked as the main auditorium caters for up to 1200 seated, or when transformed into its flat floor capacity can hold 1800 standing. The flexibility of the space has enabled the venue to accommodate the largest West End productions to formal dinners, exhibitions and conferences. Not only this, but upstairs, towards the rear of the venue is the more intimate Second Space, a performance area suitable for smaller scale performances, community projects, workshops and lectures.
The theatre has a five-star rated Waterside Cafe. The light, airy and welcoming eatery has free wi-fi, family-friendly facilities and is open from 10am, throughout the day for elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, light bites and pre-show snacks for the perfect theatre experience.
The venue is operated by the Ambassador Theatre Group who since opening are delivering a diverse programme of entertainment from West End musicals, dynamic dance shows, powerful opera and spine-tingling drama, to hilarious comedy and mesmerising illusionists.
